Jamaica part two. Current news, famous place and living conditions and values

Current news.
This Wednesday five people were killed by gunfire in the Kingston Western Police Division. These kills brought the death numbers up to nine during the last five weeks. A saying by a female resident; ''Right now we are in fear; everyday there is another shooting [and] we don't know who will be next.''

Famous place.
Dunns River Falls is a good and pretty place to visit when you're in Jamaica. This waterfall is about 300 meters high. The way it flows down the rocks and terraces makes it look like a giant set of stairs. In the falls you'll alwo fine beautiful lagoons.

Values and living conditions.
The people of Jamaica values a healthy life and freedom. In Jamaica the difference between wealth and poverty shows greatly. Cities with tourist attractions and visitors are the more wealthy areas om the land.

Why they speak English.
The reason why English is spoken in Jamaica today is because of English colonization. England made quite the success with the colonies there. So the people of Jamaica switched languages to English after some time.

Jamaican culture.
One traditional Jamaican food dish is the Jamaican Patty. Basically what this is a type of bread with meat inside. If you're going to Jamaica, you'll fin these patties at most stands and tourist restaurants.
One of the most known and popular genres within music is reggae. Most people think of Jamaica immediately when they hear reggae. Bob Marley is probably the most famous reggae artist.

Famous person.
Usain St. Leo Bolt was born the 21st of August, 1986 in Trelawny, Jamaica. Usain is a Jamaican athlete. He's a sprinter and he holds the world record on 100 meter, 200 meter and 4x100 meter. Four of the Olympic medals he has are individual, all put together he has six Olympic medals.

New Zealand part two. Famous person, why they speak english and living conditions and values

Famous person.
The artist Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor is known as Lorde, which is her artist name. She's a young singer from New Zealand. She was born the 7th of November 1996, so she's only 17 years old! Her biggest hit was the song Royals, Which has been on 1st place on hit lists in both England and in the US! She's also been nominated for several Grammys. Another song by Lorde which has gained more popularity is the song Team.

Why they speak English.
The English they speak in New Zealand is related much to Australian English. The New Zealand dialect also has some Scottish influence because of many Scottish settlers from the 1800.

The standards of life in New Zealand are high. Just as any country, it's had ups and downs in living standards. They are passionate about their sports and the respect for others.

Famous places to visit.
A beautiful place to visit whilst in New Zealand is the Abel Talsman National Park. The park is closed of for all vehicles. To enter you have to come with a boat, a small plane or simply walk. The trip will be more than worth it. You will find yourself in a breathtaking and stunning landscape.   















You could also visit the thermal wonderland, which lies in Rotoura. There are plenty of geysers and hot springs both in and around the city. 
















Current news.
A female jogger was attacked Wednesday night in Hamilton. She was jogging down a street when a van stopped and blocked her path. One of the passengers exited the vehicle and attacked her. The lady got away and ran to the a boat ramp camp nearby. A person at the camp helped her when she arrived at the camp.

Culture.
New Zealand has a similarity with England when it comes to sports. The most popular sports are being rugby, cricket and netball. Rugby is even considered the national sport in New Zealand.
Many different genres of music has been brought to New Zealand from different countries in Europe. Music like church music, choir and band music. Bagpipe is still growing bigger.
You'll find many different religions here, but up close to 40% of the population claims to be of no religion at all.



















Australia part two. Living conditions and values, Why the speak English and famous places

Living conditions and values.
Living in Australia is good. Living in Australia is relatively better than the rest of the world, even though there are some disagreements with how good the living conditions are. Australia is also the home of many Aboriginals who have lived here for decades. Australians value respect and freedom for every individual, and the freedom to have the religion you wish.

Why do they speak English here? 
The reason why they speak English is because that the first white who settled down there were British. British colonies were settled and English naturally became the spoken language.

Famous places.
A very popular tourist attraction in Australia is the Opera House in Sydney. It's one of the most known buildings from the 1900. It's designed by a danish architect Jørn Utzon. The opera house is known for having theaters, ballets and musicals preformed inside.

You could also visit the Uluru, known as the Ayers rock. It's the largest single piece of stone on earth. Kind of like the icebergs, most of Ulurus mass is hidden underground. The rock stretches 348 meters in the air.

Culture.
In Australia they have many food dishes which are considered weird and unusual. You can get served Emu meat. Emu is a native Australian bird. Either the meat get smoked out well and served cold, or you can actually get it as pizza topping! Something a bit more normal is the Lamington. The lamingtons are being described as Australias national cake.
Some popular sports here are cricket and rugby.

Famous person.
A very famous actor from Australia is Chris Hemsworth. Chris was born on the 11th of August, 1983 in Melbourne, Australia. He plays the main role in many movies. For example, he's the main character in the movie "Thor", and he plays the same character (Thor) in the movie "The Avengers".

Current news.
Doctors were shocked to find a mans heart in the right side of his chest instead of the left. The man 46-year old had been in a motorcycle accident. The mans injury towards his lungs and chest caused so much pressure that the heart had switched sides. One of the doctors said this; "I had never seen anything like it. What’s unique about this case is the way the heart rotated so far in the other direction, and the patient was still awake and alert."

Canada part two. Famous places, current news and someone famous

Famous places.
A beautiful and breathtaking place to visit when in Canada, is Niagara Falls. The giant waterfall lies not far from Toronto. It's easy to find a way to get there, and when you first have arrived, you will not regret it!

Another place you could visit whilst in Canada is Lake Louise. The turquoise lake lies deep in the Canadian Rookies. Right next to the lake you have The Fairmont Hotel. It's also possible to go camping nearby the big, beautiful lake.
