Ireland part one. Living conditions and values, culture and why they speak english.

Living conditions and values.
The living conditions in Ireland are very good. According to a survey from 2005 they are put as number one in the world, with the best conditions for the people. Of course there are some areas that are more poor than others, but overall the Irish people have good jobs, education and are well payed. The people of Ireland highly value their family and their friends. Most of the Irish are Catholics.

Culture.
The culture of Ireland includes many customs and traditions(like St. Patrick's day and Halloween), the language, music, art, sports and folklore. A known folklore is the Leprechaun, a being who reminds most people of Ireland. Some of the most popular sports in Ireland are soccer, rugby and hockey. Two known soccer players are George Best and Roy Keane.

Why they speak English.
The reason for English to be spoken in Ireland is because of a long English, public domination. This influenced Ireland greatly. Today, very small percentage of the Republic of Ireland speaks fluent Irish. Ireland has both English and Irish as an official language.
